Eine Dickies Hose aus LA, ein Cord-Jacket, hat mir mal meine Mutter geschenkt. Das Polo habe ich von meinem Vater und die Adidas Hi-Tops von meiner Freundin. Den Derby-Hut habe ich mir vor einem Monat in LA gekauft.
Trousers by Dickies from LA, a corduroy jacket, I got from my mom. A poloshirt from my Dad and Adidas Hi-Tops - I got these from my girlfriend. I bought the derby-hat one month ago in LA.

Woher ist die Feder an Deinem Hut? Wieso ist die da? From where is the feather on your hat, why is it there?

Die Feder kam mit dem Hut und ist das Markenzeichen eines Derby-Huts.
Habe ich mir jedenfalls sagen lassen.
The feather came with the hat and is the hallmark of a derby-hat. That's what they told me anyway.

Trägst Du Sonntags immer Hut? Do you wear a hat every sunday?

Ich trage den Hut zur Zeit eigentlich immer.
Acutally I wear this hat everyday.

Was hat Dich auf die Farbzusammenstellung gebracht? How did you hit on the colors?

Ich liebe bunte Farben und Rot ist meine Lieblingsfarbe. Ich finde
meine Mode weder schwierig, noch mutig. Ich trage einfach nur das, was
ich cool finde. Das mein Geschmack anscheinend anders ist als der meiner
Mitmenschen, ist etwas, worüber ich noch nie nachgedacht habe.
Zumindest nicht bis zu dem Moment als du mich angesprochen hast.
I love colorful things and red is my favorite color. I think my style is neither complicated or courageous. I simply wear what I think is cool. I never thought about the fact, that my taste is seemingly different from the style of my fellow men. That is until you approached me.

Wie entscheidest Du Dich morgens was Du anziehen wirst? How do you decide what to wear in the morning?

Ich versuche meine wenigen Klamotten in immer neuen Kombinationen
anzuziehen. Heute dachte ich mir: Dude, das Jacket hast du schon lange
nicht mehr angezogen, würde bestimmt cool mit dem Polohemd aussehen. Das
dauert 2 Minuten, geht Rucki-Zucki bei mir.
I try to combine my few clothes in new ways. Today I thought: dude, you didn't wear the jacket for a long time - it would definitely look cool with the poloshirt. That takes 2 minutes, just like that.

Wie würdest Du Deinen Stil beschreiben? How would you describe your style?

Was trägst du? What do you wear?

Ich trage ein H&M Hemd, inklusive Döner-fleck von heute Mittag - aber der Döner war es wert. Auf der Hose hatte ich auch noch einen, aber der ist mit Spüli rausgegangen. Die Hose ist übrigens von Acne, die Schuhe sind von PF-Flyers.
I'm wearing a shirt by H&M, including a stain by a doner from today's lunch - but the doner was worth it! There was also a stain on the jeans, but I could remove it with dish liquid. By the way the jeans are from Acne, the shoes are PF-Flyers.

Wie hast du dich heute morgen für dieses Outfit entschieden? How did you decide what to wear this morning?

Ich wollte eigentlich ein anderes Hemd anziehen, aber da ich morgen Weißwäsche machen will habe ich heute das weiße angezogen.
I wanted to wear another shirt, but tomorrow is laundry day - that's why I chose this white one.

Hast du etwa feste Waschtage? Means you're having your laundry scheduled?

Nee, aber... morgen wollte ich weiß waschen.
No, but... tomorrow I want to wash my white stuff.

Welchen Stil magst du? Which style do you like?

Beim Kaufen achte ich auf Schnitte und Farben, und darauf das kein Schnick-Schnack dran ist - Aufnäher oder Nähte ohne Funktion oder sowas finde ich unnötig. Ich mag es lieber schlicht. Am liebsten Schwarz oder Weiß. Im Moment finde ich Lila gut, das ist meine Sommerfarbe. Und Hemden mit weiterem Schnitt. Ich habe eigentlich die letzten Jahre nur enge Hemden gekauft, so Slim Fit. Das ist jetzt eines der ersten die so pluderig sind. Ich mag gerade pluderige Hemden.
When buying clothes I look out for cuts and colors, and that it's plain-vanilla, no patches or unecessary decorative stitching and so on - I think that's gratuitous. I like it plain. I prefer black and white. Purple sometimes, it's my color for the summer. And I prefer shirts with a looser cut. Actually I've been buying slim fitted shirts for the last years. This is one of the first with a baggier cut.

Wo kaufst du gern ein? Where do you like to shop?

Hauptsächlich bei den skandinavischen Designer, wie Acne oder Filippa K. Ich gebe lieber mehr Geld für weniger Kleidungsstücke aus, als wenig für viel. Wobei ich gern mit H&M Basics mixe - aber das sollte man ja eigentlich nicht machen, weil die soviel kopieren und damit den Designern das Wasser abgraben.
Mostly at scandinavian designers like Akne or Filippa K. I like spending more money for less items, than spending less money for more. Whereas I like to combine with H&M basics - but you shouldn't do this, because H&M copies a lot and harm individual designers.

Wieso achtest du darauf was du trägst? Why do you pay attention to what you're wearing?

Weil ich mich wohler fühle, wenn ich denke, dass ich gut aussehe. Ist doch normal?!
Because I feel better when I think I look good. That's normal, isn't it?!

In a row.

It's hard to find men in suits in Berlin. We mean: good looking and fitting. In Germany wearing a suit is mostly experienced as a restraint not as a pleasure. So we were very pleased when we met Heishiro Fujikawa, 27, from Osaka, spending his holidays in Berlin. He's not wearing the usual tourist-outfit, which is totally great - look! he doesn't even have a camera!
