This tiny shop at the end of Görlitzer Straße in Kreuzberg just might be the fulfillment of all your pastry-dreams. "Barcellos Salon Sucré" is a perhaps unlikely combination of pâtisserie and hair salon managed by Eric Muller and his wife Katia Barcello. Visiting them for an interview last week, I entered the shop just after it had opened its doors at 10am. Eric Muller served me a coffee with a croissant au creme d'amandes whose crispy sweetness literally melts in my mouth while I wait for him to get ready. Eric is a talkative man and we often get interrupted by customers, who all seem to have known him for years. The audience is mixed, from heart-warming pensioners who like to enjoy their second breakfast with a hot chocolate and a dainty pastry, French fellows ordering their daily Café au Lait, to American hipster dads carrying babies and grocery shopping bags. All the while, Eric and I talked about how he got to Kreuzberg, why he stayed, and what the secret of his dainty croissants is.

This is Svenja Specht, the renowned creative behind the label Reality Studio in her studio in Friedrichshain. When I started engaging in Berlin fashion, this was one of the first labels I discovered and instantly liked. Svenja lives one floor above her studio with Yoske, who I photographed as the first subject for the At Home series. I met with Svenja on 11/11, the Faschingsanfang (beginning of the carnival season) in Germany, which explains the Pfannkuchen pastry (aka "Berliner" outside of Berlin) on the table.

I met Jen several years ago at the now-defunct Ideal Showroom. Back then she was still living and working in Canada, but since then she has made Berlin her permanent home and is now living with the very talented photographer Maxime Ballesteros, in a typical Berlin apartment furnished with granny lamps and armchairs found on the street. With her current label DTSM (which we already showed you during last fashion week), she creates beautifully structured clothing alongside her business partner Kyle Callanan.

Our editor Antje Stahl met the artist Alicja Kwade in her studio in Kreuzberg to talk to her (in German) about what is real and what better is not.

For this week's interview our editor Antje Stahl is sitting down with artist Jeremy Shaw to talk about the connection between arts and drugs, the playfulness of neuroaesthetics and why in the end everything is nothing and then everything again.

Rebecca Lamarche-Vadel sat down with artist Gregor Hildebrandt to talk about his work, relation to music and the sacrification of art.
Gregor Hildebrandt is a German artist living and working in Berlin since 1999. He works with a multitude of materials, best known for his use of cassette and video tape for use as a material in paintings/collages. His work ranges from small intimate works on paper to canvas paintings to very large installations using cassette tape, records and granite. In almost every work is embedded a song to which the piece's title is generally derived. He is represented by Wentrup in Berlin and Almine Rech Gallery in Paris.
Rebecca Lamarche-Vadel is a french Berlin-based art critic, advisor to art collectors and an independent curator. Working with international young and established artists, she co-curated the show Art by Telephone in Paris during the Fiac, which will have a second edition during Miami Art Basel in December. She writes about the German contemporary art scene for french magazines, and is a permanent collaborator of Particules.
