At Vladimir Karaleev

Vladimir Karaleev presented marvelous eye candy on our last day of fashion week showing his new collection - long time followers will know that I've been knowing, loving and supporting Vladimir's work for a long time - still he's been able to suprise me and most of the audience with this complex and intelligent collection that takes his art of the bare seam one step further. For the first time he presented a shoe collection which will soon also be available online. Please watch the video for a full enjoyment of Vladi's grunge girls for fall winter 2011/12.

At Michael Sontag

We loved Michael Sontag's presentation during Berlin Fashion Week - his colors felt unusual and the shapes look so elegant and cozy at the same time - he's definitely one to watch - click here to see the video:

Milan Men's Fashion Week: At Vivienne Westwood

I've been on assignment covering backstage for Men's Folio magazine at Milan Men's Fashion week, and amidst all the scrambling I managed to get a photo of Jennifer outside of the Vivienne Westwood show.

And now, on to Berlin Fashion Week.

Interview: Chelsea Farmer's Club

Christoph Tophinke at Chelsea Farmer's Club, photo: Trevor Good

It's that time of the year again: Fashion Week! On this joyous occasion we went to Charlottenburg to discuss classic menswear with someone who should know: Christoph Tophinke, the mastermind behind the "Chelsea Farmer's Club“.
We met him in their tiny store on Bleibtreustraße, a cosy venue which they'll soon exchange for a bigger space on the parallel Schlüterstraße. The new store will be a kind of living room for those who prefer to spend their Saturdays sipping fine drinks and enjoying sophisticated chatter. As long as it's not about "fashion“, that is, because there's so much more to the world than clothes. We tried, at least, discussing political dresscodes, stuffy Hamburg, and the crucial difference between socks and stockings...

PS. We'll stay in Mitte for Fashion Week – check our Facebook page for regular updates!

Interview: Aaron Moulton

Aaron Moulton and Mette Ravnkilde Nielsen (Photo: Trevor Good)

Trevor Good met Aaron Moulton, the director of Galerie FEINKOST, to discuss their latest exhibition ‘During Office Hours’ (until January 22nd) curated with partner Mette Ravnkilde Nielsen, happening at the offices of VGF (Verband Geschlossene Fonds) in Georgenstraße. The exhibition is only viewable as the title states, during office hours when employees are present and work is happening. FEINKOST recently closed, so we also talked about the gallery business, the possibilities of curation in the commercialized artworld and where we can meet Aaron Moulton next.

At home: The Golding-Tomter Family

This is Jorn, Odin and Kimberly - they used to live in Kreuzberg's Graefe-Kiez before they moved to London just some weeks ago. I took this picture just before they started packing. They inherited a lot of the oma-furniture from the old woman that used to live there before and mixed it with their own (sometimes weird) stuff, like the gun-vase on the table and the wall design (see more details on our facebook page. The reason why they left Berlin after just two years is to live closer to Kimberly's family in London and, of course: work. Jorn is a photographer and though he was able to find contacts in Berlin, the majority of his jobs were not in Berlin. You might know Jorn's photography documentation of daily life from his blog "One Portrait a Day".
